In grade 8, I did a school project comparing divorce rates in aboriginal families living on reserves to those living off reserves. Statistics Canada was my only source of data, and it allowed me to create a piece of work that I was really quite pleased with.
If the Conservatives have their way, students in grade 8 will soon be denied the information that allowed me to undertake this project. That's because the Conservative government in planning on making the Census long form voluntary. That's right, voluntary.
